Peso Pluma, Latin Mafia and Greeicy played a free concert at Lummus Park on South Beach in Miami for the College Football Playoff National Championship on Sunday. It went much so better than the night before.
The crowd did not even reach capacity!
Although the concertgoers were not required to pay for entry, somebody has to pay for the music. They were required to sit through unskippable advertisements before, between and after the three sets.
John Summit, Calvin Harris and Xandra created chaos.
With the National Championship set to take place on Monday night, the College Football Playoff partnered with AT&T to put on a two-night free concert series with a lineup that could not be more Miami. Three of the biggest brand-name DJs in the world right now performed on Saturday night. Three of the biggest Latin artists in the world right now performed on Sunday night.

Saturday was an absolute nightmare in terms of crowd control. The Miami Beach police was prepared for the amount of people who showed up. Maximum capacity was reached just a few hours after the gates opened— if that. People hopped fences, stormed through any potential opening, and forced their way in.
Those who could not get in to the designated crowd area either packed in along the barriers until they could make a run for it or gathered in the water on the outside. Police ultimately gave up on trying to stop the masses. They shifted their efforts more toward overall safety than crowd control. It was mayhem.
One person referred to the scene as a “free music festival,” rather than a concert. There was at least 50,000 people in attendance. And that might be a low estimate.
With how things went on Saturday, the College Football Playoff collaborated with local law enforcement on an expanded entry and safety plan for Sunday. The goal was obviously to prevent a similar stampede.
The plan, while helpful I’m sure, was not necessary!
Peso Pluma, Latin Mafia and Greeicy did not draw the same sized crowd for their free concert in Miami.
Perhaps people saw what happened on Saturday and decided to stay home or everybody was still hungover from the night before. Maybe it had to do with the lineups.
Whatever the reason, the crowd on Sunday was a lot smaller than the night before. Entry was easy.
In South Beach covering night 2 of free concert right on the sand with Peso Pluma being the main act. Yesterday was a mess due to overcrowding. Today they made changes:

Don’t get me wrong. There was a steady stream of people who showed up.

However, there was a lot of room still open in the designated crowd area while Latin Mafia was on stage.
Peso Pluma packed it out.

It was still a much-smaller crowd on Sunday than on Saturday. And those who were in attendance were subject to an onslaught of unskippable advertisements.
All of the sponsors for the free concert in Miami and the College Football Playoff had to get their screen time. Somebody has to pay for it!
