Minnesota Hockey Fan Loses Bet And Has To Sit In A Bar From Open To Close While Drinking To Shave Time Off The Punishment

A Minnesota hockey fan lost a bet and had to spend all day and night in a bar, from opening to close, and was able to drink his way out by shaving time off the total punishment with each drink consumed. This is all very similar to fantasy football punishments we have seen in the past.

The bar? Stub & Herbs in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He believed they closed at 1AM but soon found out that closing time was AM. So he had to sit there from 9AM to 2AM and drink his way out.

Hockey Fan Loses Bet, Has To Drink His Way Out Of A Bar

If this format seems familiar, you are not alone. It is eerily reminiscent of the person who had to spend 24 hours inside of a Waffle House but could shave off 1 hour of the total time for every waffle he ate.

For this hockey bet loss, this Minnesota hockey fan had to be in the bar from open to close. For every beer he drank he shaves 45 minutes off the total time, or so he says because the clock only knocks 30 minutes off per beer. And for every shot he takes is an hour off of the total time.

I’ve always been of the ‘don’t threaten me with a good time’ frame of mind. When I hear him this called a ‘punishment’ all I can think about are the countless times in my 20s I paid to do this in NYC, getting to the bars when they opened on football Sundays and staying there until last call. And we’re calling this a punishment now?!

Here’s how he did:

The first thing I noticed about this video is the guy is a lefty. He kept the tally of drinks on his right arm while writing with his left. I don’t know why that stood out so much in this video but I’m guessing you all noticed it too.

The beer of choice was Captain’s Patch from Elm Creek Brewing Company, a 4.5% ABV shandy that is infused with raspberry and lemon. I suppose if you’re drinking all day/night you might as well inject some flavor in there, and 4.5% ABV is respectable. It’s not as if he was trying to sneak in low ABV beers.

I am confused though on why the time only went down for 30 minutes for every beer drank when the video began with him telling us it was 45 minutes/beer. Regardless though, getting into an Uber by dinner time is impressive. Well done, stranger.
