There’s A ‘Real Life’ Halloween Nightmares Contest Where You Can Win $10,000 To Dress Up As The Thing That Terrifies You

Sure, Halloween is all about candy corn, goblins, and ghouls, but let’s be real: A Netflix binge on horror movies or another podcast series about serial killers *probably* isn’t going to keep you up at night.

Life moves stupidly fast in 2019. There are plenty of frightening *real life* situations that provide more scaries than any Eli Roth movie ever will. Bad credit. Not saving enough money for retirement, not getting any text messages or phone calls on your birthday, crippling medical debt, crippling student debt, a stray shopping cart smashing into your bumper in the grocery store parking lot.

Getting stuck in a job with no room for advancement.

You get the point. The folks at Natty Light are encouraging people to dress up as THAT kind of horror show. All you have to do is tag #NattyScaries and #contest on either Twitter or Instagram at a chance to win some cash relief (the challenge runs from 10/16-11/3). Someone with a great costume will win $10,000, which completely rules.

Here’s the kind of costumes they’re talking about.

We call these “thought-starters” in the communications industry. Hint: These are too obvious. I’m here to tell you that unless you have an insanely creative take on these very real scaries situations, you probably won’t win.

Also: You can’t take my scaries costume idea: A tailgate full of grown men crushing craft beers instead of a real tailgate beer, like Natty.

Once again, all the details on how to sign up:
