Man Is On North Carolina-To-Texas Flight. What He Witnesses Has Him Issuing A PSA To Another Passenger’s Girlfriend: ‘He Did Not Look’

If you are chronically online, then you’ve probably seen posts where various individuals are called out for terrible public behavior. But praise for impeccable behavior? That’s much rarer.

However, Taco (@tacoreacts), a TikToker and South Carolina photographer, is praising another man’s immaculate composure in the face of serious aesthetic temptation. In a TikTok viewed over 1.7 million times, Taco describes a “where do I put my eyes”-type encounter.

Fly High, But Keep Your Eyes On The Ground

Taco has a message for one lucky partner. “If your man was on a flight from Dallas, Texas, to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday the 14th, and he would’ve landed about 10 o’clock, you better appreciate the f— outta that man,” the photographer says.

“He was doing a very good job. … Appreciate that man because whoever he’s with, he loves you much,” he says.

Because Taco says he witnessed one of the wildest things he says he’s ever seen on a flight. “There was an Asian Jezebel in skintight leggings who kept standing up to shake her butt and reach for things in the cupboard above the seats,” he recounts.

Then, “She would drop stuff and bend fully at the waist and put her a– in this man’s face. At this point, Taco himself is shaking his head (presumably) at the temerity of the behavior and audaciousness of the memory.

Meanwhile, the mystery hero of virtue and manners “stared at his phone the entire time.”

‘Green Flags Everywhere’

In a surprise twist, the comments section proves the world is smaller and weirder than imaginable.

Cameron (@blueflamer3624) said, “I know exactly which woman you are talking about! I was on the same plane 3 rows back on the other side of the aisle [tilted laugh-crying emoji].”

“That ain’t even my man I am proud,” another viewer exclaimed.

Then the comments get a side quest. There’s a small cadre of folks who comment on the fact that Taco’s voice sounds remarkably similar to a famous radio DJ. “Casey Kasem is alive,” said viewer @nayomiwah.

And 20 other people agree. “I was just getting ready to ask if any one else heard that!!!” said Amanda (@amandadaniel76).

Who Is Casey Kasem?

Casey Kasem (1932-2014) was a deejay, radio personality, and the voice of Shaggy on Scooby Doo. Broadcasting for about 50 years, he is most well known for his “America’s Top 40 Countdown.” It’s the program that counted down the songs hitting the top of the pop music charts every weekend.

He played the songs in reverse order, from No. 40 to No. 1. More than that, he also included details and interesting facts about the artists. But perhaps the most important part of the countdown was the song that’d be number one. In days before the internet, it was always a surprise.

His warm and husky voice felt very empathetic, and he was credited as being America’s most beloved radio personality. At the end of every broadcast, he’d tell his listeners to “keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars,” because he believed America was a great country.

As for Taco, in his video caption he wrote, “I’m not gonna tell y’all what seat he was in. I’m just gonna tell y’all that Mann [sic] was fighting for his life on a three-hour-long flight.”

Minding Your Own Business

Back to the in-flight situation. Taco says that at only one point did the young man look away from his phone, and that was to make distressed eye contact with Taco. “[He] just gave me the look that all men understand of ‘I feel like this is a f——- trap, man,'” Taco recounts.

So what is the social protocol when someone is, um, preening for attention? Unsurprisingly, an etiquette expert suggests tact. “Being tactful is the art of not drawing attention to other people’s problems,” Allen Faulton writes in a guide to “conversational etiquette.”

But Reddit offers a more brutal solution to dealing with “show-off people.”

“Ignore them,” says u/Stochasticlife. “I’ve literally never had a meaningful social interaction with one of these people that I felt, in any way made my life better,” they say.

Either way, the message is clear: Keep your eyes on your own paper—or phone, as the case may be.
