After confirming the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader during their Investors Day event back in December, Disney and Lucasfilm have now confirmed the FULL cast of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ and it’s a murderer’s row of talent.

In addition to Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Christensen as the artist formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, the upcoming miniseries event will also star Joel Edgerton, umail Nanjiani, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Not only did Disney reveal the series’ bonkers cast, but they also confirmed that filming will begin in April, putting the series on track for an early 2022 release.

Back in December, when Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy first teased the series and Christensen’s return as Darth Vader, she stated that the battle between the former Jedi Master and Padawan would be the “rematch of the century”, which is obviously in reference to the pair’s first duel at the end of Revenge of the Sith.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is just one of many Star Wars projects that are currently in the works. This year, The Bad Batch and The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney+, while season three of The Mandalorian and Andor are scheduled to drop next year. There’s also Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, Lando, The Acolyte, and Visionws in the works at Disney+, in addition to the 2023 Rogue Squadron film from Patty Jenkins and an untitled Taika Waititi-directed film.

At this time, an official release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi has not been confirmed.
