A former Pentagon official claims the United States government possesses significant evidence related to UFOs. This evidence includes satellite images of multiple mysterious crafts.
According to Christopher Mellon, the government has a sizable collection of records, images, and videos related to UFOs. Mellon served as a defense intelligence official for both the Clinton and Bush administrations. The files include satellite imagery and previously withheld military videos. He claims, once released, they will take the ongoing chatter about UFOs “to another level.”
“We have satellite imagery of craft that sure don’t look like anything that we have built or constructed,” Mellon told the New York Post. He added that these images show UFOs engaging in “actions that are difficult to explain.”
Mellon went on to point out that the current CIA director, John Ratcliffe, referenced these images in a 2021 interview.
“There’s a significant number of videos from the same sources that were judged unclassified in 2018 – gun cameras on F18s, [Forward Looking Infrared Radar] videos – that have been withheld from the public,” Mellon continued.
“I know there are because I’ve seen some of them,” Mellon said, adding, “And there’s no rational reason that I can think of why those videos are being withheld.”
When will the US government release its UFO files?
President Donald Trump gave Secretary of War Pete Hegseth instructions two weeks ago to oversee the disclosure of “files related to” aliens, UFOs, and “all other information connected to” the “highly complex” topic. So far, officials have provided no word on what they will release or when it will happen.
If and when it does, Mellon does not anticipate the government releasing any files that attest to the presence of or communication with extraterrestrial civilizations.
“I have a feeling bureaucracy is going to react slowly, and I don’t think they’re gonna put the best stuff out quickly, if they do at all,” he said. “Congressional vigilance is needed to ensure a thorough and effective process.”
