People Most Commonly Borrowing Netflix Login

A new survey reveals how many people have access to Netflix, but aren’t currently living under the same roof as the actual subscriber, as well as who it is they are “borrowing” their Netflix login from.

No harm, no foul, right? At least when it comes to using someone else’s Netflix login, even if you don’t actually have a relationship with that person anymore. Which is exactly the case with way more people than you might think.

We now know this thanks to tech website Exstreamist, who surveyed thousands of people who use Netflix, and learned 44% of viewers who use someone else’s account do so without that person actually knowing that they are doing it.

In fact, only 34% of those people using someone else’s account can say for certain that the person actually DOES know that they are using their login, because 22% said they weren’t sure.

As for whose Netflix account these people are using, 22% said they are using their parent’s account, 20% are using a friend’s, 17% are using their girlfriend or boyfriend’s Netflix login, 13% said they use a former roommate’s account, 3% use a sibling’s account, while 13% said they are still using an ex’s Netflix account.

See if any of these comments from Exstreamist’s Netflix survey sound familiar to you.

“I’m using my ex-girlfriend’s parents’ Netflix account.”

“My parents never use it, so I just use their account.”

“I don’t have any idea whose Netflix account I’m using. I got a login from a friend who had one of their friend’s logins I think.”

“My roommate moved out, she left behind her Netflix login though. Thanks Mel!”

“My ex still hasn’t changed their password on me.”

“Only one person is paying for Netflix in my friend group, we all use their login.”
