Woman Buys Philadelphia Eagles-Themed Tyson Chicken Nuggets. Then She Opens Up The Bag: ‘Dino Nuggets That Got Rejected’

Nobody knows exactly when chicken nuggets evolved from generic blobs into dinosaurs, stars, and cartoon characters, but somewhere along the way, the shape became part of the experience.

For kids, it’s about which dino head to bite off first. For adults, it’s about maximizing the corner-to-sauce ratio. Either way, shaped nuggets have become a whole thing.

This woman thought she’d found the perfect game day surprise when she picked up Tyson’s Philadelphia Eagles-themed chicken nuggets. But what came out of the bag was something else entirely.

Eagles Nuggets Fall Short

In a viral video with more than 360,000 views, Bailey (@bailohay218) documented the disappointing reality of the new specialty nuggets.

The bag featured the Eagles logo front and center with two perfectly shaped nuggets flanking it—each one clearly resembling the team’s distinctive eagle head design. The green packaging screamed team spirit.

But when Bailey laid out the actual nuggets on a baking sheet, the shapes were barely recognizable.

“I thought I’d surprise bf with eagle shaped nuggets but they’re not giving bird…..” she wrote in the text overlay.

The nuggets looked vaguely bird-like if you squinted hard enough and already knew what they were supposed to be.

“You can’t tell me that looks like the bag.”

Tyson’s NFL Nugget Line

Tyson debuted the Eagles-shaped chicken nuggets in September of this year as part of a broader NFL partnership that brought team-themed nuggets to three franchises: the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers.

Each bag features all-white meat chicken with team-specific twists—the Broncos get horse-head shapes, while the Packers’ football-shaped nuggets include cheddar cheese mixed right into the chicken, Delish reported.

CBS Philadelphia reported that local shoppers have spotted the Eagles nuggets in frozen sections at area grocery chains, including Giant and ShopRite.

Do Nugget Shapes Actually Matter?

The shape of a chicken nugget isn’t just packaging gimmick; it genuinely affects the eating experience. Dinosaur nuggets hit supermarket shelves back in the 1990s, likely invented by Perdue and popularized by Jurassic Park’s 1993 release, and they’ve dominated ever since for good reason.

According to Eater, shape impacts everything from surface area for dipping sauce to the breading-to-chicken ratio. Stars offer multiple points for getting creative with different sauces. Dinosaurs provide extra nugget in the tail and legs. Even McDonald’s recognizable boot shape catches sauce better and holds together during dipping.

In a survey of over 100 families across 24 states, dinosaur nuggets came out on top by a landslide, with more than half of kids choosing them as their favorite.

Commenters React

“Wait wait. That’s the exact same shape they use for the triceratops,” a top comment claimed.

“Those are the Dino nuggets that got rejected for not being dinosaur enough,” a person said.

“Whoever made those are NOT Eagles fans,” another wrote.

“Not as bad as I thought they’d be,” a commenter added.
