Phish Fan Unbanned From Every MSG Property After Becoming First Person To Rip A Bong At The Sphere

The Phish who was banned from every MSG property, including Madison Square Garden and The Sphere, after becoming the first person to ever hit a bong inside The Sphere in Las Vegas has now been unbanned.

Sphere Entertainment Co. put out a statement on Saturday revealing that the ban was the result of “breakdown” in the company’s processes.

“There was a breakdown in our process due to a change in personnel which resulted in the letter being sent inadvertently,” the statement reads. “This customer is not banned from our properties, however, it is still against our policies, which are in accordance with local laws, to smoke, bring glassware into our venues, and disrupt other fans’ enjoyment of the event.”

Something tells us that the dude, who goes by the name ‘acid_farts’ on Instagram, wasn’t disrupting any other fans’ enjoyment of the event by smoking weed at a Phish concert.

But hey, you never know.

The initial letter the fan received told him that he is “not to enter or remain in any of the MSG venues at any time in the future.”

It did not, however, say “or else” before giving a menacing glare.

Phish Is Rumored To Have Agreed To A Multi-Year Run At The Sphere

Getting banned from the Sphere and Madison Square Garden isn’t all that big of a deal in a vacuum. But it’s a harsh sentence for part of Phish’s cultlike following.

Phish has played 83 shows at MSG over the years. The band often performs four back-to-back nights there over New Year’s Eve, which are usually some of the biggest Phish shows of the year.

Rumors also suggest that the band has agreed to a multi-year contract to play The Sphere. Its first run in the venue produced visuals that nearly broke the brains of attendees.

Thankfully for the fan, he doesn’t have to worry about the ban any longer.
