‘That’s My Ex. He’s Fine’: Woman Goes To Pittsburgh Pirates Game. Then She Looks Down At One Of The Most Unfortunate Seats In The Stadium

When you’re buying baseball tickets, you’re usually trying to get as close to the field as possible, ideally near home plate, without overpaying. What you’re not thinking about is something outside of your control entirely ruining your experience.

One woman on TikTok shared a bizarre example of how something like that can happen.

In a viral video that got over 1.9 million views, TikTok creator Alexis Salvatore (@alexissalvatore) filmed a leaky pipe above the bleachers at PNC Park, then followed it down to where it was landing: right onto a field-level seat.

The clip shows a man sitting there in a baseball cap, holding a drink, fully geared up in a raincoat as water drips directly onto him.

“I think this boy deserves a free ticket @Pittsburgh pirates nation,” Salvatore wrote in the video’s caption.

Unexpected Lore In The Comments

“That’s my ex,” one user wrote in the comments section. “He’s fine.” Her comment got over 34,600 likes.

Another commenter appreciated the man’s attitude. “Adapt. Change. Overcome,” they wrote.

A third assumed the worst. “Plot twist those are the sewer pipes,” a third added.

But one commenter who said they worked maintenance at PNC Park offered an explanation.

“I worked maintenance at PNC Park for a couple years, this is from a line off the Suite Level, and it being that far forward means it’s a drain line for the seating up there! Not sewage,” they explained. “The suite level toilets are much farther back towards the main concourse. If this ever happens to anyone, bring it up to the attendant for your seating section and they’ll call maintenance and most likely move you.”

A fifth commenter shared their experience. “This happened last year at Wrigley when I was there, someone put in a help ticket on the app and Tom ricketts himself came and looked at it,” they wrote.

What Can You Do In This Situation?

If you end up in a seat like this at a baseball field, you don’t have to just sit there and deal with it.

The first thing you should do is flag down an usher or the attendant for your section. They’re usually the quickest way to get help, and situations like leaks or broken seats are something they’re expected to handle. Most of the time, they’ll either call maintenance or move you to a different seat if there’s one available.

If that doesn’t get resolved right away, it’s worth heading to guest services. Stadiums don’t want fans having a bad experience, so they’ll often try to fix it, whether that means relocating you or offering some kind of compensation.
