‘I’m Never Eating There Ever Again’: Pittsburgh Texas Roadhouse Server Shares All The Items Customers Have Found In Their Food After Staple Roll Incident

After a staple was allegedly found baked into bread at a Texas Roadhouse location, a former employee has come forward to share her own unsettling experiences from when she worked at the chain.

In a viral video with more than 460,000 views, content creator Abigail (@flabigailfartin), who normally posts funny content, shares all the awful things she or customers allegedly found in the food at Texas Roadhouse.

Abigail explains that she left the job in 2023 and finally feels “safe to share” some of the things customers found in their meals.

Throughout her video, she stresses that she was often unfairly blamed for the mishaps.

“Guess who got yelled at? Me,” she repeats. She says her manager let customers believe she was responsible for the food, even when she had nothing to do with it (she’s a server, not the cook). The former server claims she’d often have to endure customers berating her while management just let it happen.

The List

Here’s the list of alleged discoveries she shares:

  • Steel wool in the “roadkill”: Abigail says a table once found a piece of steel wool in their Roadkill. A Roadkill is a chopped steak patty dish. She explains that the wire came from the steel wool pads cooks used to clean the grill.
  • A fake fingernail in a salad: Another customer, the former server claims, uncovered a long, red fake fingernail (with a bit of real nail attached) inside their salad. “It looked kind of like a tomato,” she recalls.
  • A beaded magnet piece in a baked potato: Back when the restaurant still used paper tickets, cooks would pin orders up with little magnets that had fake glass beads on the front. One of those magnets somehow ended up inside a customer’s baked potato, she says. Abigail adds that the diner didn’t even notice until they had already taken the food home.
  • A cockroach baked into bread: She says that one table was horrified when they found a cockroach baked onto the bottom of a bread roll.
  • A dirty diaper in the peanut barrel: In a shocking incident, she says she personally discovered a dirty diaper inside the peanut barrel at the front of the restaurant. That’s the same barrel that customers reached into for complimentary peanuts and that staff used to scoop peanuts into buckets for tables. “Yes, someone had placed a dirty diaper in the peanuts, and then we gave them to people,” she says.
  • Dead rat in the back peanut barrel: She gives a dead rat in the back peanut barrel an “honorable mention” since she says it technically wasn’t found in a customer’s food. She claims that a dead rat was once discovered in another peanut barrel kept in the back of the restaurant.

What Was The Staple Incident?

Earlier in the month a Massachusetts family said their 6-year-old bit into a Texas Roadhouse roll and found multiple staples baked inside. The girl wasn’t injured. But her sister, Maya (@maymonayy), shared the story on TikTok, where it went viral.

The family claims a manager initially agreed to comp their entire meal but later reversed course, offering to remove only one entrée from the bill. Another manager allegedly insisted Texas Roadhouse was a “staple-free premise,” despite visible stapled paperwork in the restaurant.

A fellow diner, Kayla (@redhotravioli), corroborated the story in her own viral video, saying she sat near the family and saw the staples herself.

Texas Roadhouse said they were “actively investigating” and confirmed the local health department found no signs of contamination during an inspection. The company also contacted the family, reportedly offering a $70 gift card, which they declined.

The child was taken to the ER as a precaution and was found to be healthy. Meanwhile, commenters online blasted the chain for failing to take accountability. Some urged the family to sue.

Commenters React

“How was ANY of that YOUR fault?” a top comment asked.

“Im never eating there ever again,” a person said.

“I really need to eat at home,” another pointed out.

“All of you complaining about your experiences in the comments but not talking about this poor waitress who gets yelled at?? are y’all yelling at floor staff?? girl I’m so sorry you had to go through all that, I would be in TEARS the first time and probably quit–you are strong!!” a commenter added.
