Airline catering workers are facing backlash for the way they’re going about protesting outside the airport over alleged unfair working conditions.
On Tuesday, the catering workers took over a busy intersection outside of LAX to get their voices heard.
According to union leaders representing the LAX airline catering workers, the demonstration is part of the push to “hold Flying Food Group accountable.” The union accuses the Flying Food Group of making the catering staff work under allegedly unsafe working conditions. The protesting workers also accused Flying Food Group of being cited in the past for safety and minimum wage violations.

In one video, an airline passenger trying to get to the airport desperately pleaded with the protesters who were standing in front of her car, refusing to let her get through the intersection.
“I’m going to miss my flight, I’m flying to Europe’ the woman said.

The protesters’ methods angered people on social media.
“Those people are insufferable, you don’t have the right to make other people’s lives miserable,” commented one user on X.
“Protesters need to start realizing THIS DOES NOT bring people to their side!” said another user.
The police eventually took back the intersection, but the protesters said they would be back tomorrow.
