‘Shazam 2’ Star Rachel Zegler Posts Thirst Trap To Promote Film’s Streaming Debut

With the debut of the new streaming service Max — you know, “the one to watch HBO” (sidebar: is that the most insane marketing slogan in human history?) — Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the latest DC film, became available to stream on the service.

In case you didn’t hear when the film hit theaters back in March, Fury of the Gods is not very good, as the film not only has a 49% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, but it only earned $133 million at the GLOBAL box office, which, for a superhero film, is absolutely dismal.

To be fair, though, I’ve always felt that has less to do with the creatives involved and more with the studio deciding to build a superhero franchise around the guy who starred in the NBC comedy Chuck a decade ago.

Nevertheless, in an effort to promote the release of the film, rising star Rachel Zegler — who, by all accounts, is the best part of the movie as Athena — posted a thirst trap on Twitter and Instagram to remind people that Fury of the Gods is now streaming.

In addition to Zegler and aforementioned Chuck star Zachary Levi, Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, D. J. Cotrona, Grace Caroline Currey, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou, and Helen Mirren.

Luckily for Zegler — who previously, in an extremely relatable fashion, said she took on the role in Shazam because she “needed a job” — Fury of the God‘s failings won’t impact her exploding career, as she’s currently set to star in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, which will release later this year, and the live-action remake of Snow White, which is scheduled to hit theaters next year.

Additionally, the former West Side Story star is signed on to star in the animated musical Spellbound and the disaster comedy Y2K. If you want to keep up with Zegler and her career, you can follow her on Instagram.
