Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show was one of the more polarizing in recent memory. Politicians on either side of the party line posted their opinions of the performance after the fact.
One US representative in the state of Florida is demanding the FCC review the artist’s setlist. He believes broadcast rules were violated with lyrics not suitable for television.
You can’t say the f-word on live TV. “Bad Bunny”‘s disgusting halftime show was illegal. Had he said these lyrics… in English on live TV, the broadcast would have been pulled down and the fines would have been enormous. Puerto Ricans are Americans and we all live by the same rules.
We are sending (FCC chairman) Brendan Carr a letter calling for dramatic action, including fines and broadcast license reviews, against the NFL, NBC, and “Bad Bunny.”

Randy Fine blasted the performance on social media after the fact. He is looking for action to be taken by the FCC.
Did Bad Bunny break FCC rules during Super Bowl?
I cannot definitively say as I don’t speak fluent Spanish. I do know that certain words, particularly slang and profanity, don’t always translate well.
The NFL received backlash due to the explicit nature of Bad Bunny’s music after announcing he’d be the headliner. It ensured viewers that it had done its research.
“It’s carefully thought through,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. “I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism. It’s pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching.
“We’re confident it’s going to be a great show. He understands the platform that he’s on, and I think it’s going to be exciting and a united moment.”
The preshow criticism would be reason to clean up the lyrics for the live Super Bowl performance. Randy Fine questions if that was actually the case.
Around 135 million people are said to have watched the halftime performance. About 5 million decided to tune into Kid Rock’s Turning Point USA show instead.
President Donald Trump dubbed Bad Bunny’s halftime show “one of the worst” in Super Bowl history. Others believed it to be an overwhelming success.

Even families were split on the artist choice. In the end, it was one of the most popular halftime shows in NFL history in terms of viewership.
