The horrific murder of Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer has driven a wedge between Fox News and President Trump, with the latter’s comments about Reiner’s death proving to be a step too far for even Fox News.
On Monday, as the world continued to come to terms with Rob Reiner’s murder — his 32-year-old son Nick is being held without bail in connection to the double homicide — Fox News spoke to actor James Woods, a longtime Oscar-nominated actor and staunch Trump supporter.
Conservative pundits and politicians are breaking rank with President Trump and are praising recently slain Hollywood icon Rob Reiner
Woods, who is perhaps as big of a Trump supporter as there is in Hollywood, says he found the President’s disparaging comments to be “infuriating” and “distasteful.”
“When people say horrible things about Rob right now, I find it infuriating and distasteful. Did I agree with his politics? I did not. Did I love him as a friend, as an artist, as a an icon of Hollywood and as a patriot? I most certainly did,” Woods said.

Longtime Fox News personality Laura Ingraham had a similar take to Woods, saying that Reiner was a legend.
ROB REINER WAS A LEGEND.
His work as an actor and director entertained generations and will live on.

Louisiana Senator John Kennedy was also critical of Trump’s outburst, saying he should have “said nothing.”

Prior to his death at 78 years old, Rob Reiner was a writer, actor, director and producer best known for directing iconic films such as This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bridge, Misery, When Harry Met Sally, and A Few Good Men.
At this time, neither Nick Reiner nor a lawyer representing him have released a statement regarding his arrest and the alleged murder of his parents.
