Romy Reiner, the daughter of late Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer, reportedly had reservations about her brother Nick living in her parents’ guesthouse. Nick has been charged with the murders of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer.
According to reports, the soon-to-be 28-year-old Romy Reiner has seemingly been scared of her disturbed brother Nick since they were children, with an alleged source telling the Daily Mail that even before his extensive drug abuse and homelessness, “his outbursts were frightening because they seemed to come out of nowhere.”
Rob Reiner and Michele Singer’s daughter Romy Reiner reportedly did not ‘think it was a good idea’ for brother Nick to live with them
“It feels like Romy has been scared of Nick since she was a child… Even before his drug addiction,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “She tried to stay out of his way as much as she could but it wasn’t easy.”
Perhaps part of the reason why it was difficult of Romy to avoid Nick was because he was living in their parents’ guesthouse at the Brentford home that they were ultimately found murdered in. Reiner and Singer were found in their beds with their throats slit on Sunday, December 14. Romy reportedly lived across the street from the home, too.
“The source alleged that Romy ‘didn’t think it was a good idea’ for Nick, 32, to be living in their parents’ guesthouse. She didn’t even like the idea of him living across the street from her… But she knew they moved him in so they could keep a close eye on him and give him a roof over his head.”
Following his arrest, Nick Reiner made his first court appearance on Tuesday, December 16 alongside high-profile attorney Alan Jackson.
“This is a devastating tragedy that has befallen the Reiner family. We all recognize that,” Jackson said.
“There are very, very complex and serious issues that are associated with this case. Those need to be thoroughly, but very carefully dealt with and examined and looked at and analyzed. We ask that during this process you allow the system to move forward in the way that it was designed to move forward — not with a rush to judgment, not with jumping to conclusions.”
Reiner had a decades-long career in Hollywood as an actor, writer, director and producer, and was best known for directing beloved films such as Stand By Me, Misery, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men, This Is Spinal Tap and The Princess Bride.
