Three-time Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling is obviously supremely talented. Plus, he’s now been married to Eva Mendes for 15 years, so the Canadian superstar is clearly winning at life.

But he’s not without his flaws, and as the world learned on Friday, one thing that Gosling cannot do is properly throw a football.

The 45-year-old is getting raked over the coals on social media for a hilarious-looking throw in a new Super Bowl ad for his upcoming film, Project Hail Mary.

Ryan Gosling Looks Like He’s Never Thrown A Football Before In His Life

In the video, Gosling throws a “Hail Mary” pass through the iconic donut logo at Randy’s Donuts in Los Angeles. While the obviously edited throw does perfectly fly through the center of the donut, the way that Gosling threw the ball was all that people could pay attention to.

I can’t fathom this throwing motion from someone I thought was goated,” one fan posted on X.

Legitimately have a lot less respect for him as a human now that I know he throws like this,” wrote another.

A number of fans also pointed out that Gosling ironically got one of his first big breaks in Hollywood in the iconic 2000 film Remember the Titans, playing football as a member of the recently integrated T.C. Williams team.

Notably, however, Gosling’s character Alan Bosley played safety, so he probably didn’t have to do all that much throwing.

Project Hail Mary –- based on the novel by Andy Weir –-  is set to release on March 20, and features Gosling in the role of a teacher who is sent 12 light-years away from Earth to save humanity after the Sun began to die.

Thankfully, it doesn’t appear Gosling will have to throw any footballs in order to save the world.
