Linebacker Ryan Shazier has been accused of cheating by his wife, who posted photos of alleged texts messages between him and another woman online.
It’s not what anyone expected to hear about a player that’s been an inspiration to many around football.
Shazier was paralyzed during a Pittsburgh Steelers game while attempting to make a tackle. The defender was forced to undergo spinal stabilization surgery before re-learning how to walk.
While his professional football career ended that 2017 night in Cincinnati, many continued to follow his progress off the field throughout his recovery process.
He made a number of appearances around Pittsburgh, even walking on stage to announce the Steelers’ 2018 NFL Draft pick. He accepted the Ed Block Courage Award that same year.
Shazier’s wife was with him long before that injury, and she stuck by his side throughout the recovery process.
Now, a dark cloud has been cast over his name.
Shazier’s wife, Michelle, took to social media to call the linebacker out for allegedly engaging in an affair. The news has sent complete shockwaves throughout the NFL world.

Michelle posted images on her Instagram page showing a text exchange seemingly between Ryan Shazier and another woman. Included are photos of the pair together, as well as some very interesting light reading sent from the NFLer to his counterpart.
“A person that loves his family … this is what they do to their family … the WIFE.. that has been there for him since day,” she wrote on that post. “This is Ryan… he’s a liar and a cheater!”

TMZ Sports spoke to Ryan Shazier after the news went viral.
“Michelle and I have been living apart and are currently separated,” Shazier said. “As we work through what comes next for our family, I ask for privacy and prayers.”
The couple was married in 2019 and they reportedly have one child together.
An unfortunate turn of events for everyone involved.
