Despite being one of the most famous women in the world, A-list actress Scarlett Johansson has yet to take the plunge into social media, which would undoubtedly further increase her profile (particularly when it comes to a potential Instagram account).

According to Johansson, the reason that she’s not yet on social media is that — while she may be in the population’s top percentile when it comes to wealth, success, and beauty — of her “fragile” ego.

“My ego is too fragile. I can’t deal with it [social media]. My brain is too fragile. I’m like a delicate flower,” Johansson said during a recent interview on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast.

“I spent 20 minutes looking at somebody’s Instagram page who worked for a friend of mine. Like, now I know you have a pit bull and two daughters and you live in Burbank. I was like, what? I just wasted 17 minutes of time. I now feel like I should move to California, get this specific dog, and change my life in all these ways. I felt so bad, like I was missing out on this random person’s life. I was like, I can’t do this.”

If Johansson were to ever make an Instagram account, it would certainly be interesting to see where she’d rank in terms of most followers.

At this time, the most followed actress in the world on Instagram, for example, is fellow superhero Gal Gadot (we’re not counting the likes of Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, etc. given their status as pop stars) with 98.9 million, followed by Priyanka Chopra with 85.8 million.

While it’s difficult to imagine she’d rank that high, she’d certainly pull in more followers than fellow MCU stars Florence Pugh and Brie Larson, who have 9.1 million and 6.8 million, respectively.

After last appearing in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Widow, the 38-year-old Academy Award nominee will return to the big screen this year when she stars alongside a bevy of A-listers in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City.

Asteroid City — which sees her star alongside the likes of Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Jeff Goldblum, and more —  marks Johansson’s first appearance in one of Anderson’s film

She’s also currently working on the AppleTV+ space film Project Artemis alongside Channing Tatum and the British drama My Mother’s Wedding.
