The first trailer for Scary Movie 6, which is playing in front of the recently released Scream 7, has leaked online. Scary Movie 6 is the first film in the franchise since 2013.

The trailer for Scary Movie 6 reveals that the movie will be mocking projects such as Scream, Wednesday, Smile, Halloween (2018), Ma, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Get Out, M3GAN, Sinners, Weapons, Terrifier, Heart Eyes, The Substance, and Longlegs, with additional cameos from Leatherface (from Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Jason (from Friday the 13th), Annabelle (The Conjuring).

Scary Movie 6, hitting theaters on June 12, will feature the returning main cast of Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans, and Shawn Wayans, who have not starred together in a Scary Movie since 2001.

The first trailer for Scary Movie 6 is showing ahead of Scream 7 and has since leaked online

Additional actors from the franchise such as Jon Abrahams, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Dave Sheridan, Anthony Anderson, and Chris Elliott.

While the Scary Movie franchise lost its fast ball with its fourth and fifth movies — a key factor appears to be having the Wayans brothers writing the film, which they did for the first two and Scary Movie 6 — the first trailer suggests the franchise could be heading toward a return to form.

The parody film has largely fallen out of favor in recent decades, but at the turn of the century, the Scary Movie was massively popular: the first three film, released in 2001, 2002, and 2003, made over $635 million at the global box office. To put that number into context, the A Quiet Place franchise has grossed over $898 million worldwide across three films.
