While hanging out at an event in downtown New York City for his home goods brand Houseplant, BroBible had a chance to chat a bit with actor, writer, director and producer Seth Rogen.
During our chat with the multi-hyphenate and Emmy-winning creator behind the hit AppleTV series The Studio, we asked him how he can possibly keep himself from nerding out with the likes of Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg when he works with them. Spoiler alert: he doesn’t.
With this being a more casual meet-and-greet event for Houseplant and not an official content opportunity for a movie, like his new film Good Fortune alongside Aziz Ansari and Keanu Reeves — it wasn’t the sort of situation where I could stick a camera in his face and record him but I did get enough from Seth that I could report on it the old fashioned way.
Seth Rogen tells us the likes of Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg “love” to nerd out about their work and other movies
As Seth explained to us at the Houseplant x Gloopy event that was hosted by Shopify in New York City, the likes of Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, two of the biggest film nerds on Earth, naturally *love* to nerd out about their work — Rogen even mentioned a specific memory of asking Spielberg questions on how he shot certain scenes when he starred in his 2022 film The Fabelmans.
The same can be said about Scorsese, according to Seth, who is famously like a walking, living, breathing film encyclopedia — whether that be about his movies, or the history of cinema at large.
As for who we can expect to see make a cameo in Season 2 — Rogen wouldn’t given an inch even if we promised to keep it off the record. But based on the swath of A-list appearances in Season 1 and the rapturous reaction to the show, it’s safe to say that Rogen is likely lining up another murderer’s row on celebrity cameos.
You can check out Rogen, Ansari and Reeves — alongside Keke Palmer — in Good Fortune when it hits movie theaters on Friday, October 17. Check out the official trailer below.
