Prime Video has released the first look at former Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in the streaming service’s upcoming Tomb Raider series.

Prime Video’s upcoming Tomb Raider series has been created, written, and executive produced by actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is best known for her series Fleabag and her starring role in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old Sophie Turner was cast as Lara Croft in November 2024 and promptly got ripped for the role, showing off her toned physique on social media earlier this year.

Alongside Turner, the series is also set to star Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie and August Wittgenstein.

The last time Hollywood took a swing at the Tomb Raider franchise in live action was back in 2018, when Academy Award-winning Alicia Vikander starred as the character in a 2018 film directed by Roar Uthaug. Prior to that, Oscar winner Angelina Jolie starred in a pair of Tomb Raider films in the early 2000s, with the  original making $274M at the global box office.

On Netflix, an animated Tomb Raider series with Hayley Atwell voicing Lara Croft was recently renewed for a second season.

As for Turner, she’s best known for her starring role of Sansa Stark on the iconic HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones from 2011 to 2019. She also previously starred Jean Grey / Phoenix in the X-Men franchise, featuring in the films X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.
