The season 27 premiere of the long-running Comedy Central South Park, which took its biggest shots at President Donald Trump since he became a politician, delivered historic ratings for the network.

For many years, South Park used its character Mr. Garrison as a stand-in for Trump. The season 27 premiere, titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” changed all that, however.

To depict Trump, South Park illustrated him using a photo-realistic cut-out instead of its classic in-house animation style — a trick that the series has only used for a handful of people over the years, such as Saddam Hussein and Mel Gibson.

In addition to finally showing Trump as Trump, the episode also depicted him as being in a homosexual relationship with Satan, having a micro-sized manhood, being in the Epstein files, using Christianity to trick his supporters into giving him money, and suing anyone who disagrees with him.

South Park’s season 27 premiere mocking Donald Trump had historic viewership

According to Comedy Central, “Sermon on the ‘Mount”, drew the largest share of cable viewers for a season opener since 1999, making it the biggest season premiere the series has seen since the Clinton Administration, and was the most-watched show on all cable channels on its debut day.

Comedy Central also says that viewership jumped 68 percent compared to last season’s premiere, while “Sermon on the ‘Mount”, drew nearly 6 million viewers across Comedy Central and the Paramount+ streaming service.

The network added that the season 27 premiere was the “most social episode” in South Park history and the most discussed program on television the night it aired.

Following the premiere of the episode, the White House released a statement saying that the series — which just landed a $1.5 billion deal from Paramount — calling it a “fouth-rate show.”

“Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows,” the statement read in part.

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention. President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone certainly don’t seem to be intimidated by the White House’s posturing, as the teaser for the next episode, releasing on August 6, has confirmed he’ll be featured in that, too.
