The Super Bowl has traditionally been a launch pad for some of the biggest movies of the year to debut new trailers and this year is shaping up to be no different. According to reports, films such as The Fantastic Four and the final Mission: Impossible movie will be airing new trailers during the Super Bowl LIX broadcast.

Elio, Smurfs, Novocaine, M3GAN 2.0, Lilo & Stitch, Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four, Jurassic World: Rebirth, How to Train Your Dragon, and Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning are the films that will debut new trailers during the broadcast of Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, according to reports.

One high profile 2025 film noticeably absent from that list is James Gunn’s Superman, hitting theaters on July 11, 2025. In a clever piece of marketing, Superman will instead air a new trailer during the coverage of the Puppy Bowl earlier in the day (given that Superman is set to feature Kyrpto the Superdog). A new teaser for Superman also aired during the NFC and AFC Championship game.

“Sitting out this year are Sony, Warner Bros, Netflix, Amazon MGM Studios and Lionsgate. It’s not expected that Apple Studios will have anything either. The last time Warners made a big play during the Super Bowl was for 2023’s The Flash.”

“The five most watched Super Bowl trailers on social media in the 24 hours after the game last year were Deadpool & Wolverine (75.4M views $211.4M opening), Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (43.2M views, $58.4M opening), Wicked (40.1M views, $112.5M opening), Twisters (29.2M views, $81.2M) and Despicable Me 4 (27.9M views, $75M 3-day/$122.6M 5-day opening).” [via Deadline]

The Super Bowl has traditionally been a destination for movie studios to debut new teasers and trailers given the amount of eyeballs that tune into the big game: last year, an estimated 123.7 million viewers tuned into the Super Bowl.
