Sydney Sweeney has shown that she’s not shy about doing things for money, such as selling soap with her bathwater in it, to doing campaigns with brands such as American Eagle, Baskin-Robbins, Miu Miu, Armani Beauty, Baskin-Robbins, Miu Miu, and more.
As it turns out, however, the 27-year-old actress isn’t limiting her money-earning abilities to personal income, as she said during a recent interview that she would be down for a charity boxing match following her experience making the biopic Christy.
For her role in Christy, Sweeney claims to have gained 30 pounds of muscle and that she and her stunt doubles were really punching each other while filming.

“There was a moment in the middle of filming where I was like, ‘Should I give it all up and fight because I love this?’. Christy [Martin] said she’d sign me up. So this isn’t as hypothetical as you actually think it is. Yeah, I’d totally do a charity bout, that’d be so sick,” Sweeney said in an interview with SportsCasting.
Despite Sweeney’s obvious commitment to the project, Christy got knocked out at the box office during its debut weekend as it made just $1.2 million, which is a bottom 10 all-time opening for a movie that debuted in at least 2,000 movie theaters.
2025 has now seen Sweeney star in four movies: three box office flops — Americana, Eden, and Christy — and the quickly forgotten AppleTV streaming film Echo Valley.
The Euphoria and Anyone But You star still has one project left to release in 2025 and that’s The Housemaid, which is an adaptation of the best-selling novel directed by Bridesmaids director Paul Feig. Given her recent box office struggles, Sweeney could desperately use The Housemaid being a sizable hit.
She’s also set to feature in the third and final season of Euphoria, which will be releasing on HBO next year.
