Megan Moroney and Tate McRae are two of the biggest female stars in music right now. They sent Bridgestone Arena into a frenzy with a surprise duet of ‘6 Months Later‘ in Nashville.
Be warned— you might struggle to hear their vocals over the crowd of screaming girls.
This is actually the second year in a row that McRae invited Moroney to join her on stage in the country music capital of the world. I was sorely disappointed not to be there. My FOMO is very real this morning.
Tate McRae and Megan Moroney are a dynamic duo.
I would go so far as to say McRae is the second-biggest popstar on the planet behind Taylor Swift. Maybe third behind Dua Lipa, but a very close third.
Moroney may not be quite as big on an international level but she is of that same status in her specific genre. Especially in a city like Nashville.
For perspective, McRae has more than eight million followers on Instagram. Moroney has more than two.
I would venture to guess that more than 60% of their individual followings is made up of females. And that number is probably a very low estimate.
However, their popularity reaches more than just the ladies. I am a huge fan of both artists! (Bonk)
My wife went to the Tate McRae concert at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday with a group of her friends. I was not invited this year, which bummed me out, but I was there to see her bring out Megan Moroney for ‘Tennessee Orange’ last summer. It was awesome. Their harmonies blew me away.
Their latest duet was even better.
‘6 Months Later’ is a banger.
I made a quip on social media at the beginning of August that we, as a collective society, were still lacking a “song of the summer.” I’d like to walk that back.
Summa is ova but we had ‘No Broke Boys’ from Disco Lines and ‘6 Months Later’ from Moroney!
I am only going to focus on the latter because doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and blonder and hotter. Something like that.
Anyway, McRae invited Moroney back out on stage at Bridgestone to perform her No. 1 single. The crowd pop was unlike anything I have ever seen outside of a Swift concert. It was wild. And rightfully so!
Tate McRae gets a lot of credit for being a performer. She does not get enough credit for her voice. Her ability to sing the harmonies alongside Megan Moroney is a testament to her artistry. She sounds even better when she takes the lead vocals.
I am begging these two to release a joint track, whether it be a cover or an original.
We already got McRae with Morgan Wallen. Lets get her with Moroney next! (Please)
