Taylor Swift Made Stevie Nicks Cry With Incredible ‘Eras Tour’ Performance

Taylor Swift is, inarguably, the biggest pop star in the world right now. The 34-year-old is on a generational run right now, and counts many of music’s all-time greats among her fans.

One of those big fans is the iconic Stevie Nicks, of Fleetwood Mac and solo fame. There are few in the music industry that are as universally revered as Steve Nicks.

Nicks has spoken highly of Taylor Swift in the past, and even wrote a poem that was included in Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.  When Stevie Nicks is writing poems for your albums, you’ve hit a new level of superstardom.  And, Taylor Swift name-dropped her in her song, Clara Bow, on TTPD.

In November of 2022, Nicks’ bandmate and fellow lead singer of Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVie passed away.  According to Rolling Stone, Nicks spoke about how  Swift’s song, You’re on Your Own, Kid, reminded her of McVie during a show in Atlanta.

“Thank you to Taylor Swift for doing this thing for me, and that is writing a song called ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid,’” Nicks said during a performance in Atlanta. “That is the sadness of how I feel. As long as Chris was, even on the other side of the world, we didn’t have to talk on the phone. We really weren’t phone buddies. Then we would go back to Fleetwood Mac, and we would walk in and it would be like ‘little sister, how are you?’ It was like never a minute had passed, never an argument in our entire 47 years.”

Nicks attended Taylor Swift’s recent ‘Eras Tour’ show in Dublin, Ireland, and was brought to tears by Taylor Swift’s performance of You’re on Your Own, Kid.

After the show, Nicks joined Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at a local bar. 

Safe to say that her love for Taylor Swift is genuine.
