The “Year of Taylor Swift” in 2023 has really turned into two years, as the world’s biggest pop star has not relinquished her chokehold on pop culture. That continued at Wednesday’s MTV Video Music Awards, where Swift once again stole the show.
Swift absolutely dominated the VMA’s Wednesday, taking home seven awards including Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. But, it’s comments that she made about her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, that is capturing attention on Twitter late Wednesday night.
It’s coming up on a year since Taylor Swift was spotted in a luxury suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for the Chiefs’ Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears, announcing to the world a relationship with the now three-time Super Bowl Champion.
Since, they’ve become the top couple in recent pop culture history, as Swift was with Kelce every step of the way for the Chiefs run to another Super Bowl last winter. And, Kelce followed Taylor Swift around Europe for much of the summer as she performed at her smash-hit Eras Tour.

At this point, it’s hard to disagree with her. Everything the future Hall-of-Famer touches certainly does turn to happiness, fun, and magic.
Taylor Swift was at the Chiefs’ season-opening win against the Ravens, and there’s no reason why we wouldn’t expect here this this Sunday as the Chiefs take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
