Man Takes His Pug To Texas Roadhouse. Then A Manager Comes Over: ‘Can I Get A Table For 2?’

Dogs are a man’s best friend, but that doesn’t usually extend to going out to restaurants together. However, one man decided to try his luck at Texas Roadhouse and brought his pug for a meal. Viewers couldn’t believe the manager’s reaction and debated whether animals should be allowed in dining areas.

In a video with over 676,000 views, TikToker and dog influencer Roodabeguh (@roodabeguh), the pug, heads to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate 100,000 followers. His owner walks in confidently with the pug in his arms and asks, “Can I get a table for two?”

While the host looks hesitant to seat the pair, a manager quickly comes over and greets Roodabeguh. She asks his seating preference and walks them over to a booth with a basket of rolls.

Are Dogs Allowed In Texas Roadhouse?

According to the dog-friendly location review website Bring Fido, some Texas Roadhouse locations may allow pets to join guests on the outdoor patio. However, spots that allow small pets to eat inside may be harder to come by.

According to the National Restaurant Association, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) only recently updated guidelines to allow dogs to eat on outside patios. Indoor seating is still generally prohibited to avoid the pet coming in contact with food preparation or dining areas.

All service animals are allowed inside of the restaurant but may be required to remain under the table to follow health guidelines.

Roodabeguh’s visit to Texas Roadhouse was special for several reasons.

Not only did he come along with his owner, but he even got his own meal. His owner questioned why the server didn’t take Roodabeguh’s order, too, and asked for a medium rare steak with a sauceless Caesar salad and a baked potato.

The Texas Roadhouse staff even performed the chain’s birthday cheer for the pug, who was also celebrating his third birthday in another video of the visit.

Do Viewers Think The Dog Should Be At The Table?

Despite the manager’s enthusiasm, some viewers say bringing a pet to a restaurant is just plain “gross.”

One suggested, “Soooo that means I can bring my animals to the restaurant? While other people eat their food? I love animals but they shouldn’t be allow in places like this!”

“No more Texas Roadhouse for me, dog poop just nasty,” another remarked.

“Why do ppl feel so entitled. If its not a service dog dont take it to none pet friendly place. this is not ok at all,” a third commented.

However, other commenters don’t seem to mind the pug dining at the restaurant, especially if he doesn’t disrupt other tables.

“Rather see dogs than rude or loud families!! Love love love Pugs!!!” a commenter said.

A second viewer joked, “Why is everyone acting like the dog is going back to the kitchen and personally cooking everyone’s food.”

“I would much prefer dogs in restaurants than children,” another remarked.
