The recent failed assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump has forced the hit Prime video series The Boys to make a change to its recently released season four finale.

The attempt was carried out in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13. The shooter, now dead, was 20-year-old registered Republican Thomas Matthew Crooks, who fired at Trump with an AR-15-style rifle.

Due to these events, The Boys has decided to change the title of the season four finale. Originally titled “Assassination Run,” the season four finale of The Boys is now titled exactly that: “Season 4 Finale.”

Additionally, prior to the start of the season four finale of The Boys, the following disclaimer denouncing political violence is shown:

“Viewer discretion advised. This episode contains scenes of fictional political violence. Any similarities to recent events are completely coincidental and unintentional. Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Television, and the producers of The Boys oppose, in the strongest terms, real-world violence of any kind.”

The Boys has been one of Prime Video’s flagship projects since the acclaimed series first aired in 2019.

Trump was the 45th President of the United States from 2016 to 2020 and is the current Republican nominee despite his 34 convicted felonies, multiple pending criminal trials, and his name being “all over” recently released Jeffrey Epstein-related court documents, according to California Rep. Ted Lieu.

Based on the graphic novels of the same name by Erik Kripke, The Boys — which has been renewed for a fifth and final season — stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Nathan Mitchell.

All four seasons of The Boys, and the college-focused spin-off series Gen V, are now streaming on Prime Video.
