Teaser trailer for Jesus horror movie The Carpenter’s Son released
“Inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, The Carpenter’s Son tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt. Known only as ‘the Boy’, the son is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension. As he exercises his own power, the Boy and his family become the target of horrors both natural and divine.” [via Deadline]
While the teaser does not confirm the exact release date, The Carpenter’s Son is set to release this fall.
Cage has starred in just one film this year, and that was the little-seen western Gunslingers, which was released back in April.
The Oscar-winner has been on a major comeback in recent years, however, thanks to his performances in films such as Pig, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Renfield, Dream Scenario and Longlegs.
Following The Carpenter’s Son, Cage has a pair of big roles due up in the next year, as he’ll be starring as John Madden in David O. Russell’s biopic (Christian Bale will also star as Al Davis), and will be starring in his first-ever TV show as he headlines Prime Video’s Spider-Man Noir series.
