After a string of successive bombs at the box office, Sydney Sweeney’s next film The Housemaid is shaping up to be a much needed hit for the A-list actress.
According to early box office numbers, The Housemaid — an adaptation of the best-selling thriller novel directed by Paul Feig — is tracking to make between $12-15 million in its opening weekend against a budget of just $25 million.
Sydney Sweeney is in desperate need of a box office hit, as her last three movies — Christy, Eden, and Americana — made less than $5 million combined at the global box office.
In addition to Sweeney, The Housemaid stars Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Skelnar.

Based on the box office tracking, The Housemaid is shaping up to be Sweeney’s biggest box office hit since the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You alongside Glen Powell.
In the coming years, Sweeney will star in the third and final season of Euphoria — her character Cassie Howard will reportedly have an OF account — and is attached to projects such as Barbarella directed by Edgar Wright, an adaptation of the popular Japanese anime Gundam, OutRun directed by Michael Bay, I Pretended to be A Missing Girl, and more.
