Following the deaths and disappearances of multiple scientists connected to UFO research, Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett has issued a warning about what he refers to as a “dark” trend.
Burchett was referring to the mysterious disappearances of retired U.S. Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland and his former colleague, Monica Reza.
McCasland has been missing since Friday, February 27, when people last saw him heading out for a trail run near his house. Despite the FBI, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico Search & Rescue, and the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in New Mexico all investigating his disappearance, no trace of the General has surfaced.
With the exception of Susan McCasland Wilkerson, the general’s wife, trying to dispel what she called “misinformation” regarding her husband’s disappearance in relation to UFOs, virtually no progress has been made in the search thus far. Officials say there have been no confirmed sightings or videos of him leaving the area or indicating where he was going.
Witnesses last saw Monica Reza hiking in the Angeles National Forest with a friend nine months ago. As part of a U.S. government project headed by General McCasland, Reza, an aerospace engineer, reportedly worked on creating a unique metal for rockets. It is currently unknown, or has not been reported, whether the two missing persons cases are connected.
‘Something dark is going on’
“Something dark is going on. I know these scientists and researchers. They have testified. We’ve got to get to the bottom of it,” Tim Burchett said in a recent interview. “It’s just too much, too much is going on right now, and by the way, I’m not suicidal.”
Congressman Burchett also said, “There have been several others throughout the country that have disappeared under suspicious circumstances. I think we ought to be paying attention to it.
“The numbers seem very high in these certain areas of research. I think we’d better be paying attention, and I don’t think we should trust our government.”
Congressman Tim Burchett has made a lot of outlandish UFO-related claims
Last week, Burchett, a member of the House Oversight Committee that is investigating UFO reports, claimed that NASA is “lying” about what it knows about UFOs. He also said the American space agency is hiding classified files on the subject.
When asked why there aren’t more whistleblowers willing to come forward with what they know about UFOs, Tim Burchett responded that he thinks it is because “they’re afraid someone will disappear them.”
“I think being murdered is what they’re afraid of,” he said. “I think some of them truly are because of things they’ve seen.”
He also accused the government of lying to the public about aliens and UFOs in 2023. Additionally, he has asserted that the US government is currently reverse-engineering alien technology that has the potential to “turn us into a charcoal briquette.”
In 2025, the Congressman also asserted that the US government is aware of underwater alien bases. Burchett claimed that there are “entities” at five or six deep-water locations on Earth.
