Forbes put out their yearly list of the world’s highest paid DJs and it will have you extremely angry or running out to buy some DJ equipment. For the fifth-straight year, Calvin Harris topped the list and made an ASTOUNDING $48.5 million between June 2016 and June 2017. Tiesto came in second place for the fifth consecutive year with $39 million.
Martin Garrix appeared at #9 on the list, scoring $19.5 million in the past year despite just turning 21-years-old a few months ago. For EDM fans, you’ll be happy to hear that Marshmello and the Chainsmokers, who raked in $38 million in the past year, both made the list for the first time. For non-EDM fans, you’ll probably have the reaction of something like, “Wait. A dude dressed up like a marshmallow, pushed some buttons and got paid $21,000,000? WTF?!?!?”
The top 10 Electronic Cash Kings collectively made $298 million, up from $270.5 million in 2016, so the EDM phenomenon does not appear to be diminishing anytime soon. Many of the top DJs demand six-figures for ONE performance.
Here are the highest-paid DJs in 2017:
- Calvin Harris ($48,500,000)
- Tiesto ($39,000,000)
- The Chainsmokers ($38,000,000)
