I don’t claim to know every musician on the planet or even every popular artist in America. But, if someone is going to lay claim to ‘best selling artist’ born in a state in America, you’d think that I would’ve at least heard of them before, right? Wrong. Out in the West (Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota) I literally had to Google the names of these musicians to see who they were. After checking their names I recognized their songs, but I’m still shocked that these ‘best selling’ musicians are so fucking obscure I didn’t recognize their names immediately.
Most states make sense. You look all throughout the South, East, and Midwest and nothing jumps off the map as particularly odd but you look at the Western states and…and I know that the population of those states is a fraction of others, but I’d still have assumed that there would’ve been a handful of big names born out West at some point, and I would’ve been wrong to make that assumption.
