Pixar has released the first trailer for Toy Story 5, which introduces the villain of the latest entry in the iconic animated franchise: a tablet. Toy Story 5 will hit theaters on June 19, 2026.

In the first teaser for Toy Story 5, it’s revealed that actress Greta Lee (Past Lives, The Morning Show, Tron: Ares) will be voicing the villain of the film, LilyPad, a children’s tablet.

The tagline of Toy Story 5 is, “The age of toys is over…?” makes it clear that the film will confront the recent phenomenon of “iPad kids.”

“iPad kids” is a pejorative slang term typically used in reference to Generation Alpha children who appear to be addicted to screen technology such as phones or tablets, and whom display negative behaviors as a result of that addiction.
