Severance breakout star Tramell Tillman was nominated for his first Emmy Award for his work as Mr. Milchick earlier this week, and celebrated by inviting his mother to the ceremony. Tillman shared a heartwarming video of the moment on his Instagram page.

The 40-year-old Tillman got his start in acting in 2014 with the plays ‘Tis A Pity She’s A Whore and Sweat, and the TV series Difficult People.

After a handful of non-descript supporting roles, Tillman landed his game-changing part in Seth Milchick in Severance, which has gone on to become one of the biggest shows in the world.

Tillman’s work as a true scene-stealer earned him a much-deserved nomination for season two, leading to the tender moment between him and his mother.

“It’s in September so I’ve got some time to get myself together!” Tillman’s mother can be heard funnily saying on the call.

“After hearing the incredible news of the Emmy nominations I called my mom to ask her if she’d be my date,” Tillman wrote on Instagram.

“A hearty Congratulations to all the nominees especially the amazing cast and crew of Severance. Thank you AppleTV for your continual support and a major thank you to the Television Academy for this honor. We’re going to the Emmy’s!!!”

Season two of Severance, which has been renewed for season three, racked up 27 nominations at the Emmy Award, including Outstanding Drama Series and nine performance category nominations, including Tillman’s nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Tillman’s career is only on the up from here, as he just had the biggest movie role of his career so far with yet another scene-stealing turn in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.

He’s also set to star in the upcoming films Good Sex alongside Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo, and Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother with two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.
