Sports And Movie Fans Mind Blown After Travis Scott’s Role In ‘The Odyssey’ Is Unveiled In Surprise AFC Championship Game Trailer

Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures dropped a surprise teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s newest film The Odyssey during the AFC Championship game between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots. The teaser was notable for unveiling a surprise cameo role in the film for rapper Travis Scott — and not just any role, but a speaking role.

At this time, while it’s not yet been confirmed what character Travis Scott is playing, that is undoubtedly the famed Astroworld rapper in the latest trailer for The Odyssey — which is Christopher Nolan’s first movie since winning the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director for Oppenheimer in 2023.

Scott has acted before, with a minor roll in the 2019 film Gully, a voice role in a Trolls TV special in 2021, and as Zion in Harmony Korine’s (Spring Breakers) 2023 film Aggro Drift. He and Nolan have had a relationship for a few years now, too, ever since Scott created the theme song for Nolan’s 2020 film Tenet. Scott even once shared a handwritten not given to him by Nolan on social media.

The internet is mind blown — not necessarily in a good way — after finding out that Travis Scott has a role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey follow debut of new trailer during the AFC Championship game

“am I tweaking or is Travis Scott in The Odyssey,” one viral tweeted joked.

“I swear I just saw Travis Scott in this Odyssey commercial. This TV is dim tho,” was a second.

Dawg… was that Travis Scott in that Odyssey trailer or I’m tripping?” a third added.

“You never know what travis scott’s next move could possibly be 😭,” was a fourth reaction.

In addition to Matt Damon in the lead role of Odysseus and, apparently, Travis Scott, The Odyssey also stars Tom Holland as Telemachus, Zendaya as Athena, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, Charlize Theron as Circe, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Jon Bernthal as Menelaus, Benny Safdie as Agamemnon, Lupita Nyong’o as Clytemnestra, Jon Bernthal as Menelaus, John Leguizamo as Eumaeus, Mia Goth as Melantho, and many more.

You can check out the official trailer for The Odyssey, hitting movie theaters in the United States on Friday, July 17, below.
