In June, retired Los Angeles Police Department detective Greg Kading claimed Diddy ordered a hit on Tupac Shakur a few months before he was murdered in Las Vegas in 1996.

Kading claimed Diddy instructed Duane “Keefe D” Davis to assassinate both Tupac and Suge Knight and even offered him a bounty of $1 million for each killing.

Davis, a former Los Angeles gang leader, was arrested in September of 2023 and charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon in connection to Tupac’s murder.

As a result of these claims, Tupac Shakur’s family has retained attorneys Alex Spiro and Christopher Clore and a team of investigators to look into the allegations, TMZ reports.

Tupac’s relatives are asking the attorneys and investigators to look into the claims made by Kading, as well as those made by Davis.

Davis came forward a few years ago with the claim that he was in the car with his nephew, Terrence “T-Brown” Brown and DeAndre “Dre” Smith when one of the three men (he declined to say who) opened fire with a Glock 22 and killed Shakur. Davis also said in a 2009 interview that Diddy offered him up to $1 million for a hit on Tupac.

TMZ reports that any information Tupac’s team uncovers will be turned over to the proper authorities as there is no statute of limitations on murder. They also could use that information to file a wrongful death lawsuit.

Diddy has always denied he had any involvement in Shakur’s murder and has never been charged with any crime in connection to it. In fact, he has reportedly never even been investigated as a suspect by authorities.

Earlier this month, however, a former magazine editor claimed Diddy once told her she would end up “dead in the trunk of a car” because of a dispute over photos.

In June, Suge Knight claimed that he, and many others in the music industry, have long known that Diddy has been an FBI informant for years.

Diddy is currently under investigation over numerous accusations, including amid accusations of lacing the alcohol of underage girls, sexual assault, sex trafficking, rape, and racketeering.
