Sometimes servers come up with funny nicknames for customers to remember who’s who when juggling multiple tables. But one Twin Peaks server realized she left the nickname “Creepy Guy” on one of her guest’s bills.
In a video with over 874,000 views, TikToker RADash007 (@radash007) cringes and looks into her phone camera. She flips the camera around to show a final bill with cash covering most of the receipt.
However, the Twin Peaks guest’s name is listed as “creepy guy” at the top of the receipt.
Twin Peaks is a popular chain where servers wear revealing tops as part of the uniform. Some servers at the chain report creepy behavior from guests, which could be why the TikToker gave the man the nickname. She doesn’t share what led her to call the guest “creepy” in the viral video.
Luckily, the man seemingly didn’t notice her nickname for him before she retrieved the bill.
How Common Are Nicknames For Restaurant Guests?
On the r/TalesFromYourServer subreddit, restaurant workers share why some guests end up with a nickname. Some suggest that regulars are more likely to have a secret nickname on the point-of-sale system.
“I’ve always given the regular (good and bad) customers nicknames based on animals or cat/dog breeds. Mostly based on looks or physical behavior, but sometimes personality ticks,” one server wrote. “The spider, the slug, Maltese, peacock, baby giraffe, etc…”
“Miss Demeanor always complains about people’s demeanors…’I’m not sure I appreciate your demeanor’ is a frequently heard comment from her. Tips very poorly, too,” a second added.
However, some servers say they give out nicknames to customers they like.
“I call them S-Dads. Single Dads and Daughter. We have 3 or 4 regular dads who come in usually once a week or so with their little daughters. S-Dads are my favorite customers. They’re 100% relaxed. Completely chilled out,” another shared.
Will The Twin Peaks Server Get In Trouble?
In a comment, the Twin Peaks server says she showed her managers the bill slip-up. Luckily, she likely won’t be disciplined for the mistake.
“My manager laughed and said don’t dooooo that ash lol and 2 of my other bosses are actually in the comments on IG laughing … so NBD,” she shared.
Others assure the TikToker that the same thing happened to them and encourage her not to worry about it.
“This should honestly be normalized! I forgot to change the tab name from ‘douche bag’ once, I think it’s happened to us all at some point,” a viewer said.
A second commented, “Omg I’m just realizing all those tickets I never changed their names on. I’d always put the color shirt they were wearing or hat or something.”
“I once did this but it said ‘silver fox’ cause the man was fineee lmaooo whole table got a kick out of it,” a third added.
