A video of a mysterious object found inside a bag of Walmart-brand cheese puffs is making the rounds on TikTok, as viewers scramble to figure out what it might be.
In the clip, which has pulled in more than a million views, TikTok user Jill (@jillmariem12) shows the object on her kitchen counter, covered in bright orange cheese dust and shaped like something that definitely shouldn’t be in a snack bag.
“So today we did Walmart delivery for groceries and snacks and all the things needed at the house,” she says at the start of her video.
After work, her kids came home from school and asked for a snack. “I opened the bag of cheese puffs, gave my daughter a few of them… when my other daughter noticed something in the bag. So we dumped it out.”
She then shows the object sitting on her kitchen counter. It’s long, curved, and it definitely doesn’t look like a normal cheese puff. “This is what was in our bag of cheese puffs,” she says. “I think it’s a snake. What do you guys think?”
In her caption, she wrote, “Great Value cheese puffs had what looks like parts of a snake in the bag!!!!!!!”
She Shares More Updates
In a follow-up video, Jill explains everything she tried once she realized what she thought she was looking at.
“OK, an update,” she begins. She says she tried calling the store the night before, but it was after hours. “We couldn’t get a manager. … It just kept ringing, and then we would get disconnected.”
She called again in the morning and reached someone around 9am. “They said I need to go in and make a report and show photos and all the things,” she says. So around noon, during her lunch break, she drove to Walmart with the photos and the lot number from the bag.
But what she saw next surprised her. “They’ve known for a few hours,” she says. “Other employees knew about it last night. It’s been on Facebook. … So I went back to the chip aisle, and they were still on the shelf.” She even checked the lot number. “It was right there.”
She says she made the complaint anyway. Her husband then contacted someone from corporate, and she also called the local health department to file a report of her own.
Later that evening, after church, her husband went back to Walmart again. “They were all off the shelf,” she says. “So I’m sure it just had to go through the chain… protocol.”
Jill also shared that someone else in her town bought the same product and found a similar object in their own bag. She says theirs was “not as thick,” but it looked like the same kind of thing. “My husband was joking, like, ‘Oh, that’s the rattler,’” she says.
She then posted several videos of herself breaking the object apart to see what it looked like inside. She notes that it breaks easily. But she still isn’t sure what it is.
So What Could This Be?
Based on Jill’s footage and the fact that the object doesn’t appear to have bones, a head, or a tail, it’s unlikely to be an actual snake. But the exact answer isn’t clear either. BroBible reached out to Walmart to find out what could be going on here.
In the comments, people shared theories. One viewer wrote that the shape looked more like a manufacturing error than an animal part. “If you look and zoom, you can tell it was a machine malfunction that made really ugly/gross puffs,” the person wrote. “Look at the inside. It’s clearly cheese puff.”

Another person had a different take. “I think it’s a paycheck,” they wrote.
Jill shut that idea down.
She responded to another similar comment, “As long as my daughter who ate some puffs from the bag doesn’t end up with any issues, there isn’t a need for a lawsuit. We don’t need any compensation. It’s just wild! And definitely needs looked into.”
Other viewers shared their own experiences with Walmart food mishaps. One person wrote, “I got the Great Value cheese stuffed shells and there was a staple in one of them… Walmart sent me a $5 gift card in the mail for what I paid for it.”
