Meta‘s stock rose this morning following the quarterly earnings call led by Mark Zuckerberg who announced robust performance in 2025 and big plans for 2026. Among the things Mark Zuckerberg discussed with investors was Meta’s $135 billion investment in AI for 2026 in pursuit of “advancing personal superintelligence.”
Among the things discussed by Zuckerberg were the future of artificial intelligence and how they will impact the daily lives of users within the Meta ecosystem. Here is what that means for you.
What Did Mark Zuckerberg Say About AI During Earnings Report?
Presumably, if you are reading this article you use at least one Meta product. BroBible is active on Facebook and Instagram with the former being one of our vital ways to stay connected with readers. So when there is discussion from the top about how that might be changing, we listen.
Mark Zuckerberg released a transcript on Facebook of what he said on the Meta earnings call. He kicked if off by saying there are at least 3.5 BILLION people worldwide using one of Meta’s products every single day. That is wild to wrap your mind around!
He said in the coming months, new AI models will be arriving. MZ said “in ’25 we rebuilt the foundations of our AI program. Over the coming months we’re going to start shipping our new models and products. I expect our first models will be good but, more importantly, will show the rapid trajectory that we’re on. And then I expect us to steadily push the frontier over the course of the year as we continue to release new models.”
Being on the Publishing/Media side of the Facebook/Meta world, here is where my ears perked up. Mark discussed how soon, the ‘Feed’ will be transformed by an AI bot that knows us in and out, and how we are progressing toward an era where that AI bot might be able to create content to entertain us as we see fit.
Zuckerberg said “new kinds of content will soon be possible as well. People want to express themselves and experience the world in the most immersive and interactive ways possible. We started with text, and then moved to photos when we got phones with cameras, and then moved to video when mobile networks got fast enough. Soon we’ll see an explosion of new media formats that are more immersive and interactive, and only possible because of advances in AI.”
He continued, adding “our feeds will become more interactive overall. Today our apps feel like algorithms that recommend content. Soon, you’ll open our apps and you’ll have an AI that understands you, and also happens to be able to show you great content or even generate great personalized content for you.”
Is Mark Zuckerberg referring to News? Videos? Pictures? All of the above? We may soon find out.
While the idea of a bot that knows me so well it can curate content for me sounds very enticing, I do still enjoy seeking out new interests in life. Learning that I don’t like a particular interest or care about a certain topic is all part of that process as well. If everything I see is tailor made for me then I’m not learning at all, am I? That’s where my mind went after this revelation.
During the earnings call, the Meta CEO and Facebook co-founder also reiterated how he believes Meta’s glasses are the future. I used to be skeptical of this but the more I’ve worn my Meta glasses over the years the more I’ve come to understand how they can shape the future, especially as Meta’s capabilities progress year over year.
