Jason Thomas Nichols, a 30-year-old California man, is facing four felony charges after Ring camera footage of his erratic home invasion attempt went massively viral this earlier this week. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, first-degree burglary, terrorizing, and vandalism for the Tuesday, April 7 incident.
Earlier this week, video of Jason Thomas Nichols attacking the front door of a neighbor and demanding to know where his daughter was blew up on social media. In the viral Ring camera footage, Nichols — wearing a black trench coat, a Demon Slayer anime shirt, and flip flops — can be seen approaching a residence on Burbank Court in Fairfield, California, before starting to bang on and kick the front door while repeatedly demanding to see the family’s daughter.

Unable to break down the front door, Nichols eventually broke into the home through a sliding glass door and began searching for the homeowner’s child.
Further video showed the homeowner returning home and arming himself with a metal shove before engaging with Nichols. The yet-to-be-identified victim had the presence of mind to ask Nichols if he was military despite the fact that he had already broken into his home, seemingly trying to figure out if he was suffering from a PTSD or CTE episode. While Nichols said he was military, there has been no confirmation that was a true claim.
During the altercation, police say that both Nichols and the homeowner suffered from head injuries.
UPDATE: The man seen on Ring camera footage asking, “Where is your daughter?” was able to get inside.
At that point the home owner rushes home and a confrontation takes place with it all being captured on camera.
