‘Damn That’s My Go-To Location’: Texas Woman Orders Wingstop Fries. Then She Spots Something Moving

It doesn’t happen too often, but once in a while, unlucky customers find unsettling, inedible things in their takeout meals or grocery items. Poor hygiene in commercial kitchens exists, and it’s the consumers who suffer the consequences.

For example, one man previously reported finding worms inside a can of Chef Boyardee spaghetti. Another shopper discovered a small piece of aluminum in Pillsbury biscuits, and a third spotted a bedbug in Papa John’s pizza box.

Now, a woman is sparking a discussion on TikTok after spotting something unusual in her Wingstop fries.

What’s That Thing Inside The Wingstop Fry Box?

Houston-based TikTok user Livi (@theonlyissalivi) shared a short clip of the mysterious object.

“B—- this is a–” she says, filming a small black spherical item. She then starts screaming loudly, presumably because the object moved. However, it’s not clearly visible to the viewer whether any movement actually occurred.

She wrote in the video’s text overlay, “13643 State Hwy S, Arcola TX, United States Wingstop beware.”

In a follow-up post, she shares a closer look at the object, but it remains unclear what it is. It does not appear to be moving.

What Do Commenters Think?

In the comments section of the first clip, most users couldn’t tell what was going on.

“Are you afraid of fries or am I missing something?” one person asked jokingly.

Others said they previously had negative experiences at that specific Wingstop location. “Girl they gave me a chicken with a whole deep-fried pinky toe,” another wrote. “Tossed in bbq sauce and all. I refuse to eat at that Wingstop.” They even attached a photo of the foot still attached to the fried chicken.

“That’s the worst Wingstop I’ve ever been to in my life,” wrote another.

In the comments section in the second video, however, many said this was not a bug.

“I work at wingstop and i can assure you this is just burnt corn due to us having to use the same baskets for fries and corn,” wrote one user.

Another commenter, claiming to have previously been a Wingstop manager, responded, backing them up.

“I was about to same thing because I used to be a manager at Wingstop & this lady called one time say it was a roach told her we didn’t have roaches & she brought it back turns out it was the corn,” they wrote.

Has Anything Similar Happened Before?

While it’s not exactly clear what the black object in Livi’s case is, Wingstop customers have previously shared instances of bugs found inside their food.

One Reddit user, for example, shared a close-up photo of a belly-up bug on top of a wing. They said Wingstop refunded them, but they were worried it could lead to a foodborne illness.

Another Reddit user shared a photo of a bug in Wingstop carrots. In a separate case, a Wingstop customer posted to Facebook, sharing a photo very similar-looking to what Livi posted. Many commenters under that post also said the object appeared to be fried corn.

What To Do If You Find Bugs In Takeout Food

The first step should be to immediately stop consumption and contact the restaurant. They may choose to refund you, offer a gift card, or provide another form of compensation. It’s also a good idea to keep the evidence and take as many photos as possible.

If a Texas customer suffers an injury and it’s the restaurant’s fault, they may have the right to sue the restaurant, though lawyers say such cases can be difficult to prove in court. That’s because of the many variables that can affect a human’s health and no direct link between a disease and a restaurant’s kitchen.

Customers can also file a complaint with public health institutions, which may prompt an investigation into the restaurant.
