Law enforcement agencies have a wide array of technology they can harness when it comes to tracking down criminals. That includes a police department in Wisconsin that was able to apprehend a serial pooper who had been doing their thing in a local park before a drone helped bring the disgusting crime spree to an end.

Most people who commit crimes usually do what they can to try to ensure they don’t get caught, and there are plenty of situations where the police need to get a little creative if they want to thwart them.

Those officers and departments have plenty of tools at their disposal in this day and age, as many agencies have been able to take advantage of technological advancements that have contributed to arsenals that can include robots that are able to tackle a variety of tasks previously reserved for their human counterparts and A.I.-powered programs that can still leave a bit to be desired.

The drones that have become increasingly common can also come in handy, and that was the case in the case of a serial defecator in Wisconsin who was nabbed with the help of one.

Police in Stoughton, Wisconsin used a drone and trail cams to arrest a woman who wouldn’t stop pooping in a local park

Stoughton, Wisconsin is a relatively small town of a little more than 13,000 residents located around 30 minutes south of Madison. It’s also home to a handful of public parks, including one that was recently at the center of a sting operation courtesy of someone who wouldn’t stop pooping in it.

According to WSAW, the Stougton Police Department received a number of complaints from people who had come across human feces and toilet paper near a walking path in the unnamed park to the point where it merited an investigation.

Lieutenant Chad O’Neil told the outlet he initially believed it was an isolated problem before the volume of incidents indicated that was not the case, and the department set up a number of trail cameras inside the park in the hopes of catching them in the act.

They also deployed a drone operator who was monitoring the area on the morning of February 5th and caught the perpetrator in the act before officers confronted the unidentified 46-year-old woman.

The culprit, who police say was not homeless and did not exhibit any overt signs of mental illness, admitted she “used the bathroom at a certain time and location based on a personal pattern” and was charged with indecent conduct.
