‘Young Rock’ Cast Looks Nearly Identical To Wrestling Legends

Before this morning, I really had little interest in “Young Rock”, the semi-autobiographical series coming to NBC about the life of “The Rock”, Dwayne Johnson.

That was, until, cast photos were released. The actors in the show are dead-ringers for the legendary professional wrestlers they’re portraying, especially the “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

According to The Wrap, Vince McMahon will be portrayed by comedian Adam Ray and the “Macho Man” Randy Savage is being played by Kevin Makely. Ray who voiced Slimer in the 2016 film “Ghostbusters” and Makely is most known for starring in the 2019 western, “Badland.”

Other cast members include Matthew Willig as Andre the Giant, Nate Jackson as Junkyard Dog, Brett Azar as The Iron Sheik and John Tui and Fasitua Amosa as the Wild Samoans.

Here are some of the photos from the cast of “Young Rock.”

The actors playing Iron Shiek, Savage, Junkyard Dog, and The Rock’s dad, Rocky Johnson, are pretty damn close to the originals.

Willig is about as close to Andre as possible but, let’s be honest, no one looks like the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”

So what do you think? Are you suddenly down to watch “Young Rock”? Let me in the comments and we’ll figure out a watchalong party.

I’ll bring adult beverages.
