I’m sure I don’t have to remind you of musician, Matisyahu who was primarily known for a Hasidic reggae singer popular with college kids who like to smoke weed. Well in case you didn’t know, in 2011 Matisyahu restructured his personal beliefs, and gave up on the Hasidic life style. While some people believed that Matisyahu giving up his ‘gimmick’ of Hasidism would be equivalent to Daft Punk giving up their robot ‘gimmick’ or Meghan Trainor giving up her ‘gimmick’ of making terrible, terrible, inoffensive music for middle-aged white women.
