I guess we’ve reached that point of the year during which Justin Timberlake spends his days on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which all things considered is one of the best weeks each year for Jimmy Fallon’s show. In the past, Justin’s spend a week at a time appearing on Fallon but this was his first appearance of the week, so I’m not sure if we can reasonably expect to see a ‘History of Rap’ tonight, but we can keep our fingers crossed.
In last night’s sketch, the two bestestestestest of friends are at Camp Winnipesaukee, and as Justin points out it’s weird to be there because it’s late October and not the middle of Summer. The month/date is irrelevant, though. Clearly, this was all put together just so Justin and Jimmy could sing ‘Ironic’ by Alanis Morissette (and there’s nothing wrong with that). It’s a shame that we live in a world where two bros have to come up with an excuse to get together and sing some Alanis Morissette and can’t just belt it out whenever.
