There Might Be A ‘Making A Murderer’ Movie, Here’s The Hollywood Actors Who May Play Steven Avery

Hollywood doesn’t especially like to take chances. They prefer to invest their resources into a film that has a built-in audience like every comic book movie, and that is why a Making A Murderer film just might happen.

The extremely popular Netflix 10-part docu-series is still being debated on Facebook statuses and Twitter feeds to this very day despite premiering back in December, in Internet time that’s like two decades.

There are rumors that a Making A Murderer movie could hit screens within the next four years. There’s even talk of who will play Steven Avery, the man charged with the murder of Theresa Halbach.

Irish bookmaker BoyleSports has odds on a myriad of famous Hollywood actors who could play Steven Avery.

Billy Bob Thornton and Danny McBride are leading the field with odds of 9/2 that they’ll be the one tapped to portray Avery. I’m sure the Fargo and Bad Santa actor can pull off the Manitowoc County, Wisconsin accent, but he seems a bit too thin to play the stout Steven. McBride AKA Kenny Powers does have more of the same build as Avery.

The list of Hollywood actors who are favored to be Avery is quite an accomplished bunch including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Daniel Day Lewis. John Travolta from The People v. O.J. Simpson is on the short list, even with his pursed lips. I think you have to go with Paul Giamatti from Billions and Straight Outta Compton, he can do various accents and can play dark roles.

Here are the odds:

Danny McBride 9/2
Billy Bob Thornton 9/2
Kiefer Sutherland 11/2
Woody Harrelson 7/1
Jeff Bridges 9/1
Val Kilmer 12/1
Jeremy Renner 12/1
Brad Pitt 16/1
Leonardo DiCaprio 16/1
Louis CK 20/1
Paul Giamatti 50/1
John Travolta 50/1
Sean Penn 50/1
Daniel Day-Lewis 50/1
