George R.R. Martin Says He’s Bringing A Character Back To Life In The Books, But NOT The Television Show

If you’re a fan of both George RR Martin’s books as well as the television show adaptation Game of Thrones, don’t worry – he’s not talking about Jon Snow. Sure that title makes it sound like he COULD kill off Jon in the show for good and then not bring him back in the show, and I suppose he legit could do that – it’s his series. His show. George RR Martin is old as crotch rot and can do whatever the hell he pleases, thank you very much.

However the likelihood of doing so is very, very low. For one thing it would incite riots across the country – for two, in an interview with IGN Martin elaborated, saying that the character he’s thinking about bringing back is already dead in the show:

… Martin said he had decided he would include the twist after a couple of years of deliberation. “I have decided to do it. Will you know it? I don’t know. It is fairly obvious because it is something that involves a couple of characters, one of which is dead on the show, and not dead in the books. So the show can’t do it, unfortunately, because they have killed someone I have not killed.”(via)

That’s why it can’t be Jon Snow: he’s already “dead” in both the television show and the books. Which brings us to the question…who is dead in the show and not in the books? Well let’s see:

1. Jeyne Westerling, (Robb Stark’s hot piece of ass he chose to bang rather than win the war)
2. Jojen Reed
3. Pyp (Night’s Watch)
4. Grenn (Night’s Watch)
5. Shireen Baratheon
6. Rakharo (Dothraki)
7. Irri (Dothraki)
8. Xaro Xhoan Daxos (Guy tryna bang Daenerys in Qarth)
9. Pyat Pree (Creepy ghoul warlock man in Qarth)
10. Mance Rayder
11. Barristan Selmy
12. Hizdahr Zo Loraq (He’s completely irrelevant don’t worry about it)
13. Catelyn Stark (Zombies 4 lyfe bruh)

My picks are Mance Rayder and Shireen Baratheon. I can’t think of anything Barristan Selmy would be doing in the books that would lead him down a plotline involving re-animation, and everyone else is way too irrelevant; the storylines are too old. Just in case you’re foggy on what’ll be happening in the upcoming season of Thrones, here’s a quick refresher:

Maybe Jojen Reed as the dark horse pick, but we’ll just have to wait until the next book comes out to see, won’t we? So let the countdown to “never” begin…now!
